That’s why Leica Geosystems has released the much-anticipated Software Version 1.2 (V1.2) for the iCS20 and iCS50 Precision Laser Measurers – delivering powerful new features designed to make precision measurement faster, easier, and more versatile.

Whether you work in construction, architecture, fabrication, property management, fit-out, marine, AV installation, custom furniture, windows and doors, or kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, this update is built to help you work smarter.

What is Leica iCON Trades?

Designed specifically for trade professionals, iCON trades software follows industry-specific workflows to simplify fast and accurate measurements — from straightforward jobs to complex shapes and layouts, indoors or outdoors.

It ensures a seamless data flow: capture and edit CAD data on site, create your model in CAD software, send it straight to CNC production, then complete installation with precision.

There are three tailored variants:

Interior Finishing – Measure, Marking, and Digital Templating
Digital Templating – CNC Ready
Layout – Optimised for marking out and positioning

Across all variants, the iCON trades platform provides robust tools for measuring, checking, marking, and laying out efficiently, including:

Flexible setup via known points, grid lines, walls, or a known datum height
2D and 3D measuring for mixed environments
Custom layer templates for different projects
DXF CAD import to validate, modify, or create layouts
Capture points, lines, or polylines with ease

Visible laser or crosshairs for targeting when using the laser to measure
Line and grid scanning for curved or complex spaces
Find vertical plumb points when only one datum is known

Automatically calibrate your iCS20/50 in the software to confirm accuracy and make instant adjustments – no downtime.

Orient to Object & Moving Platform Mode

This groundbreaking new feature allows to setup relative to an object. Use a physical object as your coordinate reference — ideal for prefabrication checks or non-horizontal 2D layout of objects like facades or tilted planes. The Moving Platform Mode allows set up on moving objects, such as boats, unlocking entirely new application possibilities for laser, vPEN, and vPOLE measurements and layout.
