The iCON iCS instrument is crafted from high-grade anodised aluminium. This anodisation process creates a surface that is three times harder than standard aluminium, ensuring durability. The surface will not chip, flake, or peel, even when coloured, and it is highly resistant to rust, patina, and weathering. The controlled oxidation during anodisation guarantees long-lasting performance, making the iCON iCS instrument ideal for precision laser measuring in demanding environments.

Where is the iCON precision 3D laser measurer manufactured?

The iCON is manufactured in Switzerland at the same state-of-the-art facility as Leica Geosystems’ premium total stations. This ensures the highest standards of quality and precision for every iCON 3D Laser Measurer.

How accurate and robust is the iCON vPEN?

The vPEN is designed for robustness and precision, featuring high-grade aluminum construction for both the pen and sphere. Its anti-roll mechanism ensures stable control when placed down on a surface. When paired with the iCON iCS50, the vPEN achieves exceptional accuracy of 1mm at 10 meters. This precision is ensured through meticulous manufacturing and calibration, which includes printing a unique pattern of dots on the sphere and photographing it from 100 angles. The data is then linked to the vPEN’s serial number and downloaded to the iCS50 during pairing, ensuring reliable, accurate results every time.

How do I measure with the iCON vPEN? Do I need to hold it at a specific angle?

The vPEN is user-friendly and requires no buttons to operate. To take a measurement, position the vPEN and trigger the measurement via software or remote control. The vPEN can be held at any angle, as long as the instrument can see the sphere. Thanks to its advanced calibration process, the instrument automatically determines the vPEN’s exact position for seamless and precise measurements.
